Piotr Murdzia

Piotr Murdzia (born February 20, 1975 in Gdańsk) is a chess International Master from Poland.

He was awarded the IM title in 1994. He won tournaments in Świdnica (1998) and Legnica (2003) making two grandmaster's norms.
He is known as one of the best solvers in the world ((January 2010 Ratings )). He has won the World Chess Solving Championship five times (2002, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009) and placed second three times (2001, 2004, 2010). He also won the gold medal three times in the team event of the same competition (2009, 2010 and 2011). In 2006 he won the European Chess Solving Championship in Warsaw.
In the Solvers' rating list of PCCC, July 2012, he is the first with 2767 points.〔(Solvers' rating, July 1st 2012 )〕
